- M (Medium Spool): The spool is shallower than a standard deep spool, meaning it holds less line. This eliminates the need to use hundreds of meters of expensive backing line when spooling up with high-tech, ultra-fine braided PE lines.
- HG (High Gearing): Indicates a high gear ratio (typically 5.7:1 for the 4000MHG size). It retrieves line at a brisk pace (93 cm per handle turn) but offers more cranking torque/power under load compared to the lightning-fast Extra High Gear (XG) variants.
