Hideup Coike Shrimp is a highly popular, distinctively designed Japanese creature bait . It is characterized by its tapered body, split antennae, and a dense coverage of rubber "hairs" or tentacles that move naturally even when the bait is completely still.

The COIKE series' fourth addition, the "COIKE Shrimp," retains the power of its "hairs" to attract fish even without any action, and has evolved accordingly. In addition to the concept of enticing even finicky bass with the natural action of the lure itself, its shape inspires a feeling of "this looks like it'll catch something!" and will never disappoint anglers.Unlike its original iteration from over a decade ago which used elastomer, the modern version is built from a heavily salt-filled soft plastic material, allowing it to sink naturally and forcing bass to hold on longer.

Size Lineup Breakdown

The bait comes in multiple sizes to match different fishing conditions and gear setups:
Size Variant Dimensions / Weight Common Features & Target
Coike Shrimp Mini Ultra-finesse scale Perfect for spinning tackle and light split-shot setups.
Coike Shrimp Medium ~50mm body / 30mm beard Built to bridge the gap between the mini and larger sizes; highly versatile.
Coike Shrimp (Standard) 65mm (2.5") / ~3.2g The core profile. Pairs perfectly with a #1/0 offset hook.
Coike Shrimp Extra Large Upsized profile Great for drawing attention from larger, aggressive preadatory fish.
Coike Shrimp Magnum 80mm (3.1") / 23g (7/8 oz) Designed for heavy tackle, maximum casting distance, and deep bottom fishing. Pairs with a #6/0 hook.
Popular Rigging Methods

The Coike Shrimp is incredibly versatile and can be fished effectively from shallow to deep water using several techniques:
  • Weightless Texas Rig: Rigged Texas-style with an offset hook (typically size #1/0 for the standard 65mm version). The dense rubber hairs naturally camouflage and hide the hook shank, making it highly weedless and sneaky for shallow cover.
  • Neko Rig: Inserting a nail weight into the head of the shrimp gives it a unique stand-up profile on the bottom as the tentacles quiver.
  • Free Rig / Drop Shot / Jig Head: Also highly effective when fished on a free rig or drop shot to target deeper, finicky bass that are over-stimulated by standard lures.
